The Tinker horse is an ancient breed, dating back as early as 600 B.C., and is known by different names, such as Gypsy Vanner and Irish Cob. They're a light draft breed, standing from 13-16 hands high, however, in Ireland, a little taller is more desireable. Long and flowing manes and tails, heavy feathering on the legs, and a loud pinto coat pattern make this breed easily recognizable. The gypsies of England and Ireland coveted the Tinker horses, because they were strong enough to pull the heavily-loaded wagons, but small enough to be a riding horse.
Approx. 5 3/8" long, 4.25" tall.
