Natural. Organic. Clean. Whole Food.
This all natural food-based formula will be the start of your equine success story!
An organic non-GMO blend of naturally-sourced ingredients intended to regulate bowel function and support a healthy equine digestive tract.
Created on Vancouver Island in the beautiful Cowichan Valley as a last ditch effort to save one sick horse named Giotto (known as “G”) with chronic digestive issues, G’s Formula promotes an ideal gastrointestinal environment for a healthy and balanced digestive tract by restoring the natural function at a cellular level.
When the digestive tract is healthy, your horse can efficiently absorb nutrients from its feed.
How G's Formula Works
G’s Formula is a patented, organic, non-GMO, whole food digestive aid, designed to heal and support a healthy digestive tract. We use only human grade, certified organic ingredients. No fillers, chemicals or additives are used; just food, the way nature intended. Our ingredients are dehydrated at low temperatures to ensure natural enzymes required for digestion are not destroyed.
A large number of horses today have ulcers, leaky gut syndrome, chronic colic, hind gut acidosis, and other undiagnosed digestive tract problems. These unwell horses often have secondary health or pain issues evidenced by negative behaviour, unwillingness to work, lameness issues, foot abscesses, poor coat and hoof health, muscular issues, chronic diarrhea, and immune issues, etc. Our belief is that the modern horse’s diet & lifestyle is responsible for the high rate of digestive health issues. The market is flooded with chemical compound vitamins and minerals, and processed feeds. The fillers, by-products and binders in many of these feeds are not natural to horses, and most are detrimental. In addition, most horses are not able to forage for plants that naturally aid their digestion.
Through extensive research we have formulated a natural whole food supplement that is able to heal the digestive cells and mucosa, allowing the horse to absorb macro and micro nutrients.
Does your horse exhibit any of these behaviours?
-Diarrhea, bloating, wet/loose manure
-Performance issues: bucking, bolting, or poor stamina
-Grooming and girthing sensitivity
-Overall unhappy horse, dull eye and reluctant to interact, eating issues
-Poor coat and hoof quality - dull, dry, scurfy
-Back pain, stiffness and lack of bend (especially to the right)
Blend of Red, White and Green Cabbage
Cabbage is a fabulous source of L Glutamine (amino acid) which has been proven to promote a more alkaline environment in the stomach. It also supports immune cells in the lining of the digestive tract. Studies have shown L Glutamine to repair leaky gut syndrome and improve irritable bowel and diarrhea. It also strengthens and lengthens intestinal villi (ripples) that allow for optimal nutrient absorption. Cabbage is also high in choline, a B vitamin and lipotropic nutrient that is crucial in maintaining cell membrane structure. It is also a precursor for neurotransmitters. The body can synthesize some, but not enough for optimal health. Choline combines with Inositol to produce lecithin which keeps cholesterol soluble, detoxifies the liver and increases resistance to illnesses within the thymus gland. This gland stimulates the development of T cells crucial for immunity.
Cabbage is also high in Folate, a vitamin that is essential in tissue repair and is required for the constant regeneration of the digestive tract lining, as these cells are replaced every 2-5 days. Most importantly, cabbage is the richest plant source of S-methylmethionine, also called Vitamin U (for its ulcer healing qualities). Although the actual mechanism of SMM pathway is still unclear, it is used in supplements for both humans and horses to aid in ulcer healing.
Oat Flour (Stone Milled Oat Groats)
Oats are a high source of beta glucans which maintain regular rate of food passage and prevent undigested starches from getting into the hind gut. The hindgut flora are necessary for the fermentation of fiber. The presence of sugar or starches here can cause a rise of lactic acid producing bacteria leading to ulcers or other hindgut issues (acidosis). Beta glucans are also key in activating initial immune responses and eliminating toxins. Store bought flour is highly processed and contains minimal beta glucans.
Carrots
Carrots are a good source of folic acid (B9), which assists the liver in flushing out toxins and helps cleanse the colon.
Carrots are high in beta carotene, Vitamin A and antioxidants (phytochemicals) to combat free radical damage from regular metabolism or inflammation.
Hemp Meal
Hemp is a good source of digestible proteins, containing all 20 amino acids and all 9 essential amino acids. Hemp does not contain estrogen mimickers, gluten or lactose, and is trypsin free. It provides omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids in proper ratios and has proven anti-inflammatory properties. It is high in polyunsaturated fats, and low in saturated fats. The hemp meal flour we use tests less than 2 ppm THC, and is regulated and pedigreed by Health Canada.
*Results vary depending on the horse. Some horses start showing improvements in days, others can take several weeks to months, depending on the severity of their digestive issues.
