Friesians originated in the Netherlands and were popular as a war horse during the Middle Ages. They're a light draft breed, very powerful and strong. Almost always seen in black, some can be chestnut or bay, and they very rarely have any white markings. Some horses may have a small star. Friesians are stunningly beautiful horses, with thick, full and wavy manes and tails, and are commonly used in dressage or as carriage horses.
