Frequently Asked Questions About Blundstones

1. How do I find the right size?

To determine Women’s Blundstone AUS/UK boot size subtract 3 from your CAN/US size.
To determine Men’s Blundstone AUS/UK boot size subtract 1 from your CAN/US size.
Note: For a wider fit try the half size.

We are looking for a snug fit on the instep – this will loosen up as the leather on top of the foot stretches. It is normal for there to be some initial movement in the boot, particularly the heel area. This will decrease over time as the leather and the outsole soften up and move more with the foot. Extra insoles are included with every pair of Blundstones to snug up the fit after the boot has been worn and the leather stretched.

If you already own a pair of Blundstone boots, the size on the bottom of your boots represents the Australian size.

2. Are Blundstone boots waterproof?

The Blundstone Winter Series are treated to be waterproof. These styles feature waterproof
leather uppers and elastics to protect from damp conditions. Winter boots should be maintained seasonally with a proper waterproofing product.
All other Blundstone boots feature weatherproof leather. This means our leather is as water-resistant as any leather can be, while still allowing the foot to breathe. If properly cared for, they will prevent most water penetration, keeping your feet warm and dry. Blundstone’s unique construction with a limited number of seams means there are fewer places for water to get in.

3. What is SPS?

Blundstone's Shock Protection System (SPS) disperses shock at heel strike and reduces skeletal stress absorbing up to 90% of the impact as you walk. All Blundstone boots have the SPS feature.

4. Can I put a footbed in my Blundstone boots?

Yes, definitely! A few customers will find that the fit may be a bit loose once the boot has been stretched, and a footbed helps provide a more snug fit. Footbeds also help insulate the body from winter elements. Blundstone boots are compatible with most custom orthotics.

5. Will treating my boots change their colour and texture?

Most Blundstone boots are pre-treated, and as a result, we do not recommend treating them out of the box. Pre-treated leathers will not absorb any type of leather conditioning or treatment and as a result, they can do more harm than good by sitting on the surface of the boot and attracting dirt. The exception to this rule would be styles that are manufactured with Rustic Brown or Rustic Black leathers. You may treat these leathers (but do not have to) with a natural leather conditioner such as beeswax, mink oil, Nikwax, Otter Wax or Blundstone Rustic Renovating Cream.

Treating or conditioning your Blundstone boots is recommended on a regular basis (every 3-6 months depending on use and wear).

We recommended always testing a small, inconspicuous spot on your boots to ensure you are content with the appearance and results of the use of the conditioner that you choose.

6. What if your boots don't fit properly?

Try your new boots on inside at home, if your boots are too tight across the instep bring them back to Apple Saddlery for an exchange or return or take them to a Cobbler to have them professionally stretched.

7. What should I do if I've worn through the sole?

Once you've worn through the outsole of your boots it's time to replace them. Blundstone outsoles can't be repaired.

8. What is Blundstone’s warranty policy?
